Every Monday evening from June through September, downtown Frankfort transforms into a showcase of gleaming chrome and rumbling engines. Hosted by the Frankfort Car Club, it’s free, it’s family-friendly, and it’s right around the corner from Heritage Knolls.
If you haven’t wandered downtown on a Monday evening in the summer, you’re missing one of Frankfort’s most charming weekly traditions. Cruisin’ Frankfort, hosted by the Frankfort Car Club, is a free weekly cruise night featuring classic cars, themed evenings, food, and a raffle — all set against the backdrop of historic downtown Frankfort at Breidert Green. The 2026 season kicks off Monday, June 1 and runs through September 21.

What to expect at cruise night
Cruise night is exactly what it sounds like — a relaxed, open-air gathering of classic car owners and admirers in the heart of downtown Frankfort. Cars are displayed along Kansas Street, and each week features a theme spotlighting specific makes, models, or eras. Whether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast or just love a beautiful summer evening out, it’s worth the short drive from Heritage Knolls.
- Classic & vintage cars on display all evening
- Weekly themed nights spotlighting specific makes and models
- Weekly raffle
- Food options on-site
- Family-friendly and free admission
The event takes place right across from Trail’s Edge Restaurant, making it easy to grab a meal before or after you stroll the show. Downtown Frankfort’s shops and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, so many families turn cruise night into a full evening out.
“Cruise night is one of those simple summer pleasures that Heritage Knolls families absolutely love. A beautiful evening, incredible cars, and good neighbors — what more could you want on a Monday night?”
— Rachel McKay, President, Heritage Knolls HOA
Themed nights keep it fresh all season
One of the things that makes Cruisin’ Frankfort special is the weekly theme. Each Monday highlights a different category of vehicle — think muscle cars one week, vintage trucks the next, or all-American classics for a patriotic theme. The weekly themes are announced in advance on the Frankfort Car Club’s Facebook page, so you can plan ahead if a particular week catches your eye.
With seventeen cruise nights running from June through September, there’s plenty of opportunity to make it a regular part of your summer routine. Many Heritage Knolls families settle into a weekly ritual of heading downtown after dinner to catch the show.
Heads up:
There is typically no cruise night during Labor Day weekend (September 5–7) due to the Frankfort Fall Festival taking over downtown. Plan accordingly — and enjoy the Fall Fest instead!
