OUR COMMUNITY

Heritage Knolls is a premier residential subdivision located approximately one mile southwest of historic downtown Frankfort, IL 60423. Built between the early 1990s and early 2000s, our community features over 265 upscale single-family homes across 9 units, with spacious lots ranging from 2,100 to nearly 4,000 square feet of living space. Located just an hour southwest of Chicago, Frankfort offers the ideal location for commuters with convenient access to I-57, I-80, and Metra rail service.

Our streets are thoughtfully designed to eliminate heavy through-traffic, creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for families. Heritage Knolls is home to a beautiful community lake and a 5-acre neighborhood park managed by the Frankfort Park District, featuring a playground with swings, a sand volleyball court, a softball field, a walking trail, and plenty of open space. The subdivision is also just minutes from the Old Plank Road Trail — a 22-mile paved trail connecting Frankfort to surrounding communities through scenic prairie preserves and woodlands.

LIFE IN HERITAGE KNOLLS

Heritage Knolls is more than a neighborhood – it’s a community where families put down roots and neighbors look out for one another.

Schools & Education

Heritage Knolls is served by two outstanding school districts. District 157-C provides K-8 education through Grand Prairie Elementary, Chelsea Intermediate, and Hickory Creek Middle School – a district that prides itself on its “Tradition of Excellence.” For high school, our students attend Lincoln-Way East, part of District 210, which has consistently ranked among the top-performing high schools in the state of Illinois.

The Village of Frankfort

Frankfort is a vibrant village that has maintained its small-town charm as the community continues to grow. Historic downtown Frankfort offers tree-lined streets with antique shops, local restaurants, and a weekly Farmers Market on Saturdays during the summer. Residents enjoy free concerts on The Green, the annual Fall Festival, and year-round programs through the Frankfort Park District and Library. Whether you’re biking the Old Plank Road Trail, cheering at a Lincolnway Soccer match, or grabbing gelato downtown – Frankfort is an outstanding community to call home.

Our HOA

The Heritage Knolls Homeowners Association is a voluntary organization dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our subdivision. Your annual $40 membership dues support the upkeep of both subdivision entrances, holiday decorations, American flag replacement, sign maintenance, and community events. The HOA also facilitates the architectural review process for exterior home improvements through our Architecture Review Committee. We invite all homeowners to join and help make Heritage Knolls a place we’re all proud to call home.
